Stress triggers imbalance. Imbalance triggers an increase in the frequency and number of thoughts, while grounded experiences diminish, and consciousness dims. This stage may or may not precede a manic or depressive episode; it all depends on the brain's chemistry at the time.
I try to leverage this hyper-thought window of brain activity, and use it as an opportunity to be productive. The work productivity, insights, artistic inspiration and passion felt at these times are indescribable! Truly!!! You'll thank yourself for noticing the symptoms that precede the onslaught of exasperation and exhilaration.D on't waste the moment. Remain vigilant and just accept the fact that you're about to be swallowed up by another beautiful delusion.
If an episode of mild or severe mania does arrive and I have not done something stupid AGAIN that affects others, it's a relief. Otherwise, I usually grab a shovel in ready to dig myself out of the dark hole that that I stumble into shortly after the triumph.
